The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,386 cases against traffic law violators during enforcement drives across the capital.
The DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division said police also dumped 394 vehicles and towed away 314 others during the drives conducted on Monday.
The highest number of cases was filed by the Motijheel Traffic Division with 299, followed by Gulshan with 251, Tejgaon with 180, Uttara with 174, Wari with 166, Mirpur with 153, Lalbagh with 94 and Ramna with 69.
The DMP said the drives were carried out in different areas of the capital to ensure compliance with traffic laws.
It added that the Traffic Division would continue such enforcement drives to maintain discipline on city roads.
