SSC and equivalent examination results were published today, bringing a mix of excitement, anticipation and relief for students across Bangladesh.
Among those who once experienced the same emotions were actresses Prarthana Fardin Dighi and Puja Chery, who have since established themselves in the film industry.
Dighi sat for her SSC examination in 2019 from Stamford School and College and achieved a GPA of 3.61.
Looking back, the actress said she was satisfied with the result despite having no particular expectations before the results were announced.
“I got 3.61, and I was happy with that result. I did not have very high expectations. I had assumed the result would be something like this. Whatever the result was, I earned it by sitting for the examination, so I was happy,” Dighi said.
Her father, actor Shubrata, was the first person she informed about her result. He was also pleased with her performance.
Dighi said her academic journey remains important to her, even though acting is her primary focus.
“Who else would I tell before my father? He is everything to me. He was happy. We cannot change what has already happened, so there was no reason for me to feel bad about it. Acting is my main field, but I also want to pursue higher education,” she said.
Puja Chery also sat for her SSC examination in 2019.
A commerce student, she achieved a GPA of 3.33 and said she was pleased with her result.
“I passed SSC from the commerce stream. I was very happy with the result, and everyone in my family was happy too,” she said.
Puja began her career as a child artiste and later gained wider recognition through advertisements and films.
She rose to prominence with films including Noor Jahan, Poramon 2 and Dahan, produced by Jaz Multimedia.
Despite establishing a career in acting, Pooja said her parents have always encouraged her to take her education seriously.
“My parents have always wanted me not to neglect my studies. They still have no complaints about me. I want to complete my graduation alongside acting, and I do not want to compromise on that effort,” she said.
