Prarthana Fardin Dighi has sparked debate among football fans after sharing photos of herself in both Brazil and Argentina jerseys during the FIFA World Cup, leaving followers speculating about which team she truly supports.

The discussion began after the popular Dhallywood actress posted a photograph wearing an Argentina shirt on her verified Facebook page at 7:48 pm on Tuesday. The post came just days after she had shared another image wearing a Brazil jersey on Saturday.

Alongside the Brazil-themed photograph, Dighi asked her followers, “Excited for today’s match? I’m very excited.”

Her latest post, featuring Argentina’s colours, carried a different message. Addressing her followers, she wrote, “Love to all my Argentine fans. Best wishes!”

The contrasting posts quickly generated discussion on social media, with many fans questioning whether the actress had switched allegiances between the two South American football giants.

The situation has drawn comparisons with Bangladeshi cricket star Shakib Al Hasan, who recently found himself at the centre of similar online banter.

Although Shakib is known to be an Argentina supporter, he attended a Brazil match at New York’s MetLife Stadium wearing a Brazil jersey. In a recent interview with a Bangladeshi media outlet, he joked, saying, “I’ll watch Brazil’s match. I’ll buy a Brazil jersey. I’ll post it. A switch!”

As a result, social media users have playfully labelled Dighi’s back-to-back posts featuring the two rival teams as another example of a football “switch”.

The actress has not publicly clarified which side she supports, leaving fans to continue debating her football loyalties as World Cup excitement grows.
