Actor Dhanush has apologised after thousands of fans were denied entry to the audio launch of his upcoming film “OM: Chapter 1-Udhiram: The Blood Wood” in Chennai, despite holding valid tickets, according to News 18.
In a statement shared on X, Dhanush expressed regret over the incident and accepted responsibility for the disruption.
“It pains me deeply that thousands of fans who had tickets in hand were unable to get in and had to turn back. I don’t want to investigate whose fault this was… I take full responsibility and express my regret. It’s my responsibility to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” he wrote.
The event took place on 6 November, drawing thousands of fans eager to see the actor. However, the auditorium reached capacity before many ticket-holders could enter. The situation led to heated arguments between fans and police as attendees protested the denial of entry.
“OM” is an upcoming Tamil action thriller directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, known for “Amaran”. The film stars Dhanush, Mammootty and Sai Pallavi in lead roles and draws inspiration from real-life incidents.
Set against a forest backdrop, the film reportedly features a rain-soaked sequence in which Dhanush’s character rescues a group of woodcutters. Sai Pallavi reportedly plays a police officer, while Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah also appear in important roles.
Wunderbar Films and R Take Studios are producing the film, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 20 November 2026.
