Fashion designer Sanaya Anam Wafikah Chowdhury has filed a defamation case against actress Tanjin Tisha, accusing her of spreading offensive images and false information about her.
She filed the case on Sunday at the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin.
After recording the complainant’s statement, the court ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the allegations. It also set 21 January as the deadline for submitting the investigation report.
The complainant’s lawyer, Shubhra Sinha Roy, confirmed the matter.
According to the complaint, the designer had previously filed two separate cases against Tisha at the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court and the Executive Magistrate’s Court. The complaint alleges that, out of retaliation, Tisha began sharing offensive images and false information about the designer through her verified Facebook page, ‘Tanjin Tisha’, on 27 October.
The complaint also accuses the actress of misrepresenting information about the designer to the country’s media outlets.
It further alleges that, on 7 November 2025, Tisha called the complainant through Facebook Messenger and threatened to make her photographs go viral. The designer claims to have preserved their conversation as evidence.
Quoting part of the alleged conversation, the complaint states: “If you become famous, let me know. I will upload your pictures.”
