A Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) delegation participated in the 6th Guangzhou Sourcing Fair in China to explore new trade and investment opportunities, the chamber said.
Led by DCCI Senior Vice President Razeev H Chowdhury, the delegation joined the fair on Wednesday in Guangzhou.
During a business-to-business matchmaking session, the delegation exchanged business and investment information with around 150 Chinese supplier companies from sectors including hardware and tools, automobiles, motorcycles and spare parts, home appliances, and building and construction materials.
Bangladesh and China share a long-standing multidimensional partnership covering trade, investment, infrastructure, education and human resource development, said DCCI Senior Vice President Razeev H Chowdhury.
Total bilateral trade between the two countries stood at $18.89 billion in FY2025, with Bangladesh importing $18.20 billion and exporting $694.49 million, he added.
He invited Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh in sectors such as textiles and textile products, machinery, chemicals, metals, plastics, minerals and agro-based products.
The fair will help build a bridge between entrepreneurs of China and Bangladesh, said Poly Jinhan Exhibition Director Nicole Fan.
More Bangladeshi entrepreneurs are expected to participate in future editions, she added.
Bangladeshi buyers will be able to connect with China’s supplier network and explore new areas of collaboration through the fair, she said.
