A Mumbai court has restrained social media influencer Shamita Yadav from publishing or circulating allegedly defamatory content against actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra and businessman Raj Kundra.
According to the Free Press Journal, the City Civil Court in Dindoshi also directed Yadav to remove existing posts alleged to be defamatory until further orders. The interim order came in a defamation suit filed by the celebrity couple.
Shilpa and Raj filed the suit over a series of comments and social media posts that Yadav allegedly published from February onwards. While the case was pending, the couple also sought an interim injunction against the influencer through a notice of motion.
Representing the couple, advocate Pradeep Gandhy argued that Yadav’s posts portrayed Shilpa and Raj as criminals. He alleged that the influencer committed serious unlawful acts by publishing and circulating defamatory content, causing irreparable damage to the couple’s reputation.
The court granted interim relief by restraining Yadav from posting or sharing such material and directing her to remove the existing content until further orders.
