The court had previously ordered the seizure of several thousand bighas of land associated with the group.

ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Akhtarul Islam said the petition was filed by Deputy Director Tahasin Munabil Haque, requesting the confiscation of the properties.

According to the petition, an investigation team was formed to probe allegations of money laundering against Saiful Alam, his associates, and related entities. The inquiry revealed that they allegedly obtained illegal loans under false names from multiple banks and used the funds to acquire substantial domestic and overseas assets in their own names and those of family members.

The ACC noted that the accused were attempting to transfer, relocate, or dispose of these immovable properties. Officials said seizing the assets now is essential to prevent difficulties in recovering them later.

Earlier, on 25 September, the court ordered the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice against Mohammad Saiful Alam, S Alam Group Vice Chairman Abdus Samad, and Director Mohammad Abdullah Hasan.
