Jaker Ali Anik will be part of Noakhali Express’ debut squad for the 12th edition of the BPL, but the franchise owner has made it clear he is not his preferred choice for captain. Even before the auction, Noakhali had begun strengthening their squad with both local and international players. Following the auction, reactions to the final team composition have been mixed.
The franchise also unveiled their brand ambassador for the tournament. Popular actor Ziaul Haque Polash officially signed on Thursday in the presence of the Noakhali franchise owner.
When asked about the captaincy, Noakhali Managing Director Bazlur Rahman Ratan said, “Jaker Ali Anik is not my preferred choice as captain. Ideally, I would like to see Nabi or Kusal Mendis in that role. We have a management team in place and will try to give them the opportunity. As captain, there are two or three options. With coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon involved, we have a plan and he will provide suggestions. We also have Soumya Sarkar.”
