A man and his wife died after being electrocuted while threshing rice at Halidhani in Jhenaidah’s Sadar upazila.

The deceased were identified as Mojibor Khan, 62, and his wife Momena Khatun, 57.

Md Asaduzzaman, officer‑in‑charge of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter Monday.

Their youngest son, Billal Hossain, said, “My mother called me for rice threshing work on the ground. I saw both my mother and father lying there with a large stand fan they were using for threshing. I was also electrocuted when I quickly tried to help them. After unplugging the fan, I found both my parents unconscious.”

Md Mostafizur Rahman, superintendent of Jhenaidah 250‑bed General Hospital, said both were brought dead to the hospital.
