A man allegedly raped a 13‑year‑old girl and a young woman in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, and has remained absconding since the incidents came to light on Tuesday, police said.
The accused is Awlad Hossain, 26, of Borderkandi village in Mahishashura union.
Madhabdi Police Station Officer‑in‑charge (OC) Md Kamal Hossain said the incidents occurred Monday afternoon in Borderkandi. Efforts are underway to arrest him, the OC added.
On Tuesday night, the 22‑year‑old woman’s family, accompanied by 10–12 locals, filed a written complaint against Awlad at the local police station.
Police said the two victims will undergo medical examination at Narsingdi Sadar Hospital on Wednesday.
OC Kamal Hossain said that police began investigating immediately after receiving the complaint. Victim statements, medical examinations, and necessary legal measures are being taken.
However, as the accused fled the area after the incidents, he has not yet been arrested, he added.
