Community Bank Bangladesh PLC and Sandhani Life Insurance Company Ltd. on Thursday signed a Bancassurance agreement to provide integrated insurance services to customers across the country.
Under the partnership, Sandhani Life Insurance products will be available to Community Bank Bangladesh clients through the bank’s branch network, aiming to make insurance more accessible nationwide.
The bank said in a press release on Thursday that the agreement was signed at its head office by Community Bank Managing Director in current charge Kimiwa Saddat and Sandhani Life Insurance CEO Nemai Kumar Saha, representing their respective organizations.
Officials said the collaboration is expected to increase awareness about insurance, help mitigate financial risks for individuals, and contribute to sustainable economic development in Bangladesh.
Senior executives from both organizations attended the signing ceremony. From Sandhani Asset Management Limited, the company’s Managing Director and CEO Mir Ariful Islam was present. Other representatives from Sandhani Life Insurance included the Chief Finance Officer Md Mahbubur Rahman, the Company Secretary Md Mizanur Rahman, and the Assistant Vice President of the Bancassurance Section Abdullah Al Mamun.
From Community Bank Bangladesh, the Head of ICC Division Mohammad Khairul Alam, the Chief Operating Officer Shamsul Haque Sufyani, and the Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business Branch Md Ariful Islam attended the ceremony.
The agreement is seen as a strategic step to integrate banking and insurance services, allowing customers of Community Bank Bangladesh to access a wider range of financial solutions alongside Sandhani Life Insurance offerings.
