Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray over a 2023 confrontation at a London nightclub.
According to BBC News, the singer entered his plea at Southwark Crown Court during a hearing that lasted less than five minutes.
The incident took place at a nightclub in London’s Mayfair area in May 2023. Brown’s co-defendant, his vocal coach Omololu Akinlolu, who performs as rapper Hoody Baby, also pleaded guilty to affray, reports said.
The pair had denied charges of assault and grievous bodily harm. Those charges were later dropped, along with a charge against Brown for possessing an offensive weapon.
The court scheduled sentencing for Brown and Akinlolu in October this year.
Meanwhile, ITV News reported that fans gathered outside the court with signs supporting the singer. One fan was reportedly heard shouting, “I love you Chris,” as Brown walked past.
The 37-year-old singer has faced legal controversy in the past. He previously served time in a Los Angeles prison after violating his probation following his guilty plea in the 2009 felony assault case involving his then-girlfriend Rihanna, which attracted worldwide attention.
