A helicopter transporting President Droupadi Murmu to the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple faced a brief snag after landing at Pramadam near Pathanamthitta, Kerala, on Wednesday morning.
The aircraft touched down safely at the newly constructed helipad around 9:05am, but its wheels sank slightly into the fresh concrete shortly after the President stepped out. Despite the incident, she proceeded to Pampa by road without any interruption to her schedule, reports The Hindu.
According to officials, the helipad at the Pramadam Indoor Stadium had been completed only hours before the presidential flight. The President had originally been slated to land at Nilackal, but the location was changed at the last minute due to unfavourable weather in the area.
The helicopter, left stuck on the soft surface, was later moved by police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel, who manually pushed it out of the spot.
