Veteran director Chayanika Chowdhury has earned a strong reputation among audiences over the years for her distinctive storytelling and carefully chosen casts.
Her dramas have often been praised not only for their stories but also for the performances of the actors.
Chayanika recently completed 25 years as a director.
As part of the celebrations marking her silver jubilee in the industry, production house Laser Vision has joined hands with her for a special drama titled Bishonno Megh, written by Iffat Arefin Tanvi.
The drama brings together National Film Award-winning actor Zakia Bari Momo, actor Irfan Sajjad and popular young actor Sadia Ayman for the first time.
Dolly Zahur and Mili Bashar also feature in the drama.
Speaking about the project, Mamo said, “Chayanika Boudi has completed 25 years as a director. We are part of Bishonno Megh as part of that celebration. It is a beautiful story, and I hope audiences will enjoy it.”
Irfan Sajjad said he is appearing in several dramas to mark Chayanika’s 25-year journey as a director.
“To remain active as a director with the same consistency for 25 years, one has to be exceptionally talented. There is no doubt that she is a talented director, which is why she has come this far,” he said.
He added that Chayanika has made Bishonno Megh in her signature style.
“She has her own identity in every drama she makes. She presents actors in such a distinctive way that audiences can immediately tell it is her work. Bishonno Megh also has a different story within her familiar style. I am very hopeful about the project,” he said.
Sadia Ayman said she particularly enjoys working with Chayanika because of the director’s organised approach.
“I have worked under her direction since the beginning of my career. This is the first time Momo Apu, Didi and I have worked together in a drama. That makes this project special in many ways,” she said.
Congratulating Chayanika on completing 25 years in the industry, Sadia added, “Most importantly, Didi is an excellent storyteller, particularly when it comes to romantic stories. I hope Bishonno Megh will also touch the hearts of audiences.”
According to Laser Vision, the drama will air on ATN Bangla soon before being released on the production house’s official YouTube channel.
