Bank Asia has organised an awareness programme in Bhola to promote Bangla QR, the interoperable digital payment solution, aiming to accelerate cashless transactions across the country.
The programme, held on 12 August, featured a seminar, presentations, rally and open discussions, focusing on educating local merchants, small businesses and customers about digital payment solutions and the advantages of Bangla QR for everyday transactions, said a press release on Wednesday.
Bangladesh Bank Barishal Office Executive Director Md Mofijur Rahman Khan Chowdhury attended as chief guest. Bank Asia Additional Managing Director Mohd Ziaul H Molla presided over the event.
Special guests included Bangladesh Bank Barishal Office Director Md Hafizur Rahman, Additional Director Md Mahmudur Rahman, Bhola District Commissioner Office Assistant Commissioner Md Abu Rayhan, Bhola Chamber of Commerce Director Md Raisul Alam and Bank Asia Head of ADC Md Moniruzzaman Khan.
Students, teachers, businessmen, customers, bank officials, MFS representatives and community members attended.
Bank Asia has been involved in Bangla QR since its pilot phase, promoting interoperable digital payments in line with Bangladesh Bank’s financial inclusion initiatives.
