Prime Bank PLC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Women’s University (CWU) to make banking services more seamless, modern, and technology-driven.
According to the press release, the agreement was signed under the bank’s education-focused initiative, “PrimeAcademia.”
Under the partnership, a range of banking services will be extended to students, faculty members, administrative staff, guardians, and the institution itself.
These include automated tuition fee collection, institutional business accounts, payroll management, special savings accounts, need-based loan facilities, and priority credit card services, as well as various non-banking and skill development opportunities.
At the signing ceremony held recently Prime Bank Senior Executive Vice President and Liability and Women Banking Division Head Shaila Abedin and Central Women’s University Vice Chancellor Dr Perween Hasan were present and exchanged the signed MoU on the occasion.
The agreement was formally signed by Prime Bank Senior Vice President and Financial Inclusion and School Banking Division Head MM Mahbub Hasan, and Dr Perween Hasan on behalf of their respective institutions. Elias Ahmed, registrar of the university, along with senior officials from both organisations, were also present.
During the event, MM Mahbub Hasan highlighted Prime Bank’s specialised banking solutions for the university community. He said that developing financial services tailored to the needs of the education sector, beyond traditional banking, is now essential.
He emphasised equal importance on access to financial services, financial literacy, and customer-friendly digital solutions.
Prime Bank said it views the education sector as a key area for financial inclusion. Through this initiative, the bank aims to simplify institutional financial management while expanding banking services for teachers, staff, students, and guardians.
Through “PrimeAcademia,” Prime Bank seeks to further strengthen the link between classrooms and financial systems. The initiative is expected to enhance students’ financial capability and awareness of money management, while also ensuring smooth and accessible banking services for faculty, staff, guardians, and institutions.
The bank’s initiative places strong emphasis on integrating institutional banking, personal financial management, and financial literacy into the education ecosystem. Prime Bank hopes this will contribute to building a more inclusive and effective financial environment within the education sector.
