Chartered Life Insurance PLC has approved a 4 per cent dividend for the year 2025 at its 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in a hybrid model at Gulshan Shooting Club in Dhaka on Monday.
The company reported a claim settlement rate of 99.08 per cent for 2025, with claims settled within three to five days, said a press release.
Chairman Nurul Akhtar presided over the meeting, with Acting CEO Mohammed Amdad Ullah and other directors, shareholders and senior officials in attendance.
Addressing the shareholders, Akhtar said the insurance sector held significant potential, with current penetration remaining very low.
He added that the board and management were working together to fully digitalise the company by 2030 and establish Chartered Life as a leading insurance company.
The CEO said the company maintained 100 per cent compliance and corporate governance, having achieved the 12th ICSB National Award and secured a long-term credit rating of ‘AA’ and short-term rating of ‘ST-1’.
Various initiatives had been taken to build a skilled sales team to achieve “Vision 2030”, he said.
Shareholders unanimously approved the audited financial statements for 2025, appointment of auditors for 2026 and election of directors.
Company Secretary GM Rashed conducted the meeting.
