Police have recovered the charred body of an unidentified person from the Mouchak Flyover in the capital. Due to severe burns, the identity and age of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.

The body was recovered at around 1:30am on Saturday night from a gap in the middle section of the flyover by Shahjahanpur Police Station. It was later sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for an autopsy.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Mehedi Hasan of Shahjahanpur Police Station said police reached the scene after being informed through the National Emergency Service (999) on Saturday night. The body was found lying in a gap between the expansion joints of the flyover.

He added that the victim’s gender has also been difficult to determine as the body was completely burnt in the fire.
