Sharmin Akter, champion of the music competition Channel i Banglar Gaan 2016, has begun a new chapter in her life.
The singer has married fellow musician Sabbir Quraishi.
The couple completed their wedding ceremony at Gausul Azam Mosque in the capital on Sunday in the presence of members of both families.
The intimate ceremony was attended by close relatives and family friends.
Sharmin herself confirmed the news and asked for everyone’s prayers as she begins her married life.
“Alhamdulillah, I have started a new chapter in my life. Our wedding ceremony was completed in the presence of members of both families. Please keep us in your prayers so that we can build a happy and peaceful life together,” she said.
Sabbir Quraishi is also involved in music, making their shared passion for music an important connection in their relationship.
“Marriage is a very important decision in life. The feeling is different with new responsibilities and a new relationship. I have started this new journey with the love and blessings of my family and close ones. I ask everyone to pray for us,” Sharmin said.
Sharmin rose to prominence in 2016 after participating in the Channel i Banglar Gaan competition. After progressing through several rounds, she eventually won the title.
Since then, she has continued to establish herself in the music industry.
Her vocal ability and performances have earned her a following among music lovers, and she has released and performed new songs at various times since winning the competition.
