Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) on Saturday launched a new digital platform named “Amader Chattogram” to bring civic complaints onto a real-time track, allowing residents to report urban issues directly and monitor the resolution process.
The mobile and web application was inaugurated by Mayor Shahadat Hossain during a ceremony at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), Chattogram Centre. The platform is designed to transform the city corporation’s response to urban problems into a transparent, trackable digital process.
Digital bridge
Residents can now submit photographs and location details for problems across 10 categories, including waterlogging, damaged roads, mosquito infestations, uncollected waste, streetlights, and drains. The system allows users to track whether their complaints are pending, under process, or resolved.
“This is not merely an app. It is a digital bridge between citizens and the city corporation”, Shahadat said at the launch. He added that the initiative aims to build a city that is “smart, clean, transparent and accountable”, also adding that bringing civic services to the public’s fingertips is now an “essential demand of the time”.

Enhanced monitoring
The platform provides city officials with a real-time overview of urban issues through an officer dashboard, ward-based heat maps, and an automated ticketing system. These tools are intended to help identify problem hotspots and monitor the performance of responsible departments.
Beyond complaint management, the app will offer access to emergency services, direct communication with the mayor, and facilities related to holding tax and trade licences. Mohammad Ashraful Amin, acting chief executive officer and secretary of CCC, said residents will also be able to submit proposals regarding new infrastructure, such as parks, hospitals, and educational institutions.
Future integration and AI
A polling system has been integrated to gather public opinion on civic issues. Ashraful said major services, including holding tax and trade licences, are expected to be fully online within the next two months.
Future plans include the introduction of AI-powered cameras to automatically detect problems like roadside waste and waterlogging, sending data directly to the digital system.

The project was developed by Vento Tech and financed by Eastern Bank Limited through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund, requiring no expenditure from CCC’s own funds.
The launch event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Chattogram WASA Managing Director Engineer Selim Md Jane Alam, Chattogram Range DIG Md Moniruzzaman, and Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasan Md Shawkat Ali, alongside political leaders, technology experts, and civil society representatives.
