Actor Sumaiya Shimu is set to return to television serials after a long break with director Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raj’s new drama Fire Ashar Golpo.
Once a familiar face in both single-episode and serial dramas, Shimu stepped away from regular acting for several years due to personal reasons.
She made her screen comeback earlier with Besura, an episode of Nuhash Humayun’s anthology series 2Sh, and said at the time that she was keen to return to acting regularly if she found a strong story and a suitable role.
She will now play the character Rukaiya in Fire Ashar Golpo.
Production house Cinemawala Entertainment recently unveiled Shimu’s first look from the drama on social media.
However, the actor declined to reveal further details about the production or her character.
Raj’s previous serial, Eta Amaderi Golpo, received a positive response from audiences. Fire Ashar Golpo is being produced following that success.
Preparations for the production are now underway, with filming scheduled to begin next month. The director will announce the remaining cast members in phases.
Shimu has appeared in several popular television serials during her career, including Housefull, FNF, Lolita, Behind the Scene, and Fand O Bogar Golpo.
