A love that never fully disappears forms the emotional core of Tribhuj, a new drama bringing together Ziaul Faruq Apurba, Naznin Niha and Imtiaz Barshon.

Directed by Mashrikul Alam, the drama has completed four days of shooting, with one more day remaining. Apurba plays writer Javed Hossain Rumi, Niha portrays university librarian Ritu, while Barshan plays businessman Milon.

The story begins during Rumi and Ritu’s university years, when Ritu encourages him to pursue writing.

Their friendship gradually turns into love. But Rumi eventually steps aside, considering his family responsibilities, his father’s illness and the dependence of Ritu’s family on Milon.

Ritu later marries Milon. Their relationship, however, becomes strained as doubts about the past and marital tensions grow.

When Ritu eventually decides to end the marriage, Rumi once again enters their lives, this time trying to bring the couple back together.

Apurba was drawn to the project because of the depth of its writing and situations. Barshon, meanwhile, is working with Apurba for the third time after Mayashalik and Golam Mamun.

Tribhuj marks his first collaboration with Niha.

For director Mashrikul Alam, the drama goes beyond the question of who ends up with whom.

It explores what people lose and leave behind when they love someone, and why some relationships remain with us even when they never reach fulfilment.
