The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement on Tuesday approved a proposal to procure 10.69 crore units of the Anti-Tuberculosis (2FDC) drug through an open tender process.
The proposal, submitted by the Health Services Division, was approved during a meeting of the committee held at the Secretariat, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Under the approved plan, a total of 10,69,80,000 units of the Anti-TB drug will be purchased at an estimated cost of Tk74.35 crore.
The committee recommended awarding the contract to Renata PLC.
Officials said the procurement aims to ensure a steady and uninterrupted supply of anti-tuberculosis medication as part of the government’s ongoing TB control programme.
This procurement is expected to strengthen the national TB control efforts and prevent shortages in critical medicines used in the treatment of tuberculosis.
