BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has stated that Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has assured that the election will be held at the scheduled time.
He provided this information to the media after a meeting between the BNP and the chief adviser on Sunday evening.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “The chief adviser assured us that the election will be held at the right time. There should be no doubt about this.”
He further added, “The chief adviser has every right to speak with the country’s largest political minister. This is within his jurisdiction and his own authority. He has stated, and through discussion, it has been clarified. The entire nation is highly assured that the election will be held in February.”
Regarding the attack on Nurul Haque Nur, he said, “We have clearly expressed our opinion on the incident that occurred, and we have stated that it was a highly condemnable act. We believe it is concerning. This needs to be thoroughly and deeply examined. We suspect that such an act is being carried out with the aim of delaying the election. However, there is no opportunity for that. The chief adviser agrees with us on holding the election on time.”
