Miscreants set fire to a bus in front of the Sutrapur Fire Service gate in the capital on Monday evening.
According to Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, the blaze was reported around the evening rush hour. Firefighters from the Sutrapur station brought the blaze under control before it could spread to nearby vehicles or structures.
No casualties were reported in the incident. Law enforcement agencies are investigating to identify those responsible for the arson.
Unidentified arsonists torched four vehicles, including a private car, at different locations across the capital early Tuesday.
In a separate incident, a bus driver was burned to death when miscreants set fire to a parked bus at Bhalukjan Bazar in Phulbaria upazila of Mymensingh during the early hours of the day.
