Bangladesh Television (BTV) is set to premiere two new serial dramas, Birodh and Tobu Jibon, from Sunday (9 August), exploring family conflicts, relationships, human values and the struggles of everyday life.
Birodh, written by Sazzad Hossain Dodul and produced by Mamun Mahmud, will air every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 9pm.
The serial features Farzana Chobi, Tanmoy Sohel, Kayes Arju, Somapti Masuk, Nadia Mim, Emu Sikder, Subrata Chakraborty, Shiba Sanu, Mili Bashar, Arzumand Ara Bokul, Azam Khan, Julfikar Chanchal, Tushar Mahmud, Israt Jahan and Tarek Aziz Nishok, among others.
The story revolves around a joint family’s struggle for power, revenge, broken relationships and human values.
Mirza Kamal, blinded by his obsession with wealth and power, pushes his own family towards destruction.
Past injustices, conspiracies, wrong decisions and family neglect continue to affect the next generation.
As resentment, distrust and conflict grow, family members gradually lose sight of their humanity.
Ultimately, they come to realise that love, forgiveness, family bonds and strong values—not power or revenge—are what keep a family together.
Meanwhile, Tobu Jibon, written by Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond and produced by Md Nasir Uddin, will air at 9:30pm on the same days.
The cast includes Deepa Khondkar, Sabbir Ahmed, Nusrat Jannat Roohi, Kajal Majumder, Kabir Tutul, Sumona Soma, Proma Aziz, Golam Rabbani, Rasheda Chowdhury, Sujon Habib, Shafik Khan Dilu and Dilruba Doyel.
The serial follows three different families and their struggles, relationships and challenges.
One storyline focuses on a working couple in an urban nuclear family and their concerns over their child’s safety.
Another portrays a joint family’s efforts to maintain relationships and survive together.
The third follows a couple who move from a village to the city in search of a better life and struggle to build a new future.
Through these stories, Tobu Jibon explores the realities of everyday life, family responsibilities and the subtle complexities of human relationships.
