Women passengers using BRTC’s dedicated bus services across 14 routes in Dhaka, Chattogram and Bogura will soon be able to book tickets digitally, reducing waiting time and making travel more convenient.
Shohoz.com and Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) recently signed a memorandum of understanding to introduce e-ticketing for women’s bus services in the three cities, said a press release on Wednesday.
The initiative aims to create a more organised and efficient ticketing experience for female passengers through digital technology. Safety, reliability and convenience remain key considerations for women using public transport, and digital ticketing is expected to make access to these services easier.
BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Molla and Shohoz Director Shakil Jowad Rahim were present at the signing, along with other BRTC directors and senior officials.
Rahim said the initiative was part of Shohoz’s efforts to expand digital technology in Bangladesh’s public transport system.
Abdul Latif Molla said digital ticketing in dedicated women’s bus services could help reduce waiting times and improve passengers’ confidence in the service.
Following the inauguration, passengers using women’s bus services across the 14 routes in the three cities will gradually be able to access the new facility.
The initiative by Shohoz and BRTC is expected to contribute to the digital transformation of public transport in Bangladesh, particularly by introducing technology-driven services to dedicated women’s transport.
