The auction for the twelfth season of the Bangladesh Premier League will finally take place on November 30. The process faced several delays. More than five hundred foreign cricketers first showed interest. Later the number came down to two hundred fifty. A total of one hundred fifty eight local players also made the final list. The auction has six categories. Each group has its own base price.
Category A has three players. Mohammad Naim Sheikh and Litton Das are in this group. The base price for this group is Tk 50 lakh.
Category B has fifteen players. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah are in this group. Shamim Hossain Patwary, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mahidul Islam Ankon, Soumya Sarkar, Jaker Ali, Towhid Hridoy and Yasir Ali are also in this group. The base price here is Tk 35 lakh.
Category C has eighteen players. Akbar Ali, Nahid Rana, Zakir Hasan, Mahfijul Islam Robin, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Sabbir Rahman, Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Mithun, Mominul Haque, Ebadot Hossain, Taijul Islam and Ripon Mondol are in this group. Their base price is Tk 22 lakh.
Category D has nineteen players with a base price of Tk 18 lakh. Habibur Rahman Sohan, Jishan Alam, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, Nasir Hossain, Amite Hasan, Hasan Murad, Mohammad Abu Hashem, Tofael Ahmed and Alauddin Babu are some of the names in this group.
Category E has thirty seven players. Sohag Gazi, Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby, Musfik Hasan, Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Shamsur Rahman, Ashiqur Rahman Shibli, Sheikh Parvez Jibon and SM Meherob Hasan are in this group. The base price here is Tk 14 lakh.
Category F has sixty six players with a base price of Tk 11 lakh. Abhishek Aranna, Tipu Sultan, Wasi Siddique, Zafar Ali and Shahriar Sakib are some of the names in this group.
The final list shows a wide mix of new and experienced players. Teams will now prepare for a busy auction day.
