Police recovered a bomb-like object and a note from Gangni upazila in Meherpur on Sunday morning.
The items, wrapped in polythene, were found near the Mathabhanga river ghat in Chargoyal village.
According to locals, they noticed a suspicious object in a polythene bag and, suspecting it to be a bomb, alerted Gangni Police Station.
Police recovered the object, wrapped in red tape, along with the note and took them to the station. The contents of the note were not immediately disclosed.
Gangni Police Station Officer-in-charge (Investigation) Al Mamun said a team was sent to the scene and the matter is under investigation.
