Filmmaker Farah Khan has opened up about the insecurity and constant comparisons that shape life in Bollywood, admitting she experienced the same pressure before making her directorial debut, ‘Main Hoon Na,’ writes Hindustan Times.
Speaking to Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi on their podcast, Farah said the industry often makes people compare their careers with others, leaving them anxious about their own progress.
She recalled feeling frustrated when she was waiting to make her first film, worrying that others were getting opportunities while her project remained on hold.
“This industry makes you insecure. Because at all times you are comparing yourself to somebody else,” she said.
Farah also spoke about reaching the age of 50 and deciding to detach herself from such pressures and focus on living a happier life.
She said her YouTube journey began during a break after completing the script for her next film. Her channel, featuring her cook Dilip, has since gained more than three million followers.
Farah made her directorial debut with ‘Main Hoon Na’ in 2004, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen.
