Bangladeshi singer, presenter and social worker Dithi Anwar has been appointed adviser to Kobi Nazrul Academy Chattogram. She was given the responsibility at an event held in Chattogram on 6 November. Renowned Nazrul Sangeet singer Ferdous Ara also attended the programme.
Dithi expressed her happiness at taking on the new role.
“I am sincerely grateful to and fond of Kobi Nazrul Academy Chattogram. I am truly delighted and proud to have been selected as an adviser. Sometimes, I feel that I have found fulfilment as an artist. So many achievements have come my way that I sometimes find them hard to believe,” she said.
Dithi recently became a member of the Film Certification Board, where she said she was carrying out her responsibilities properly. Alongside her regular musical activities, she is also involved in social work.
“Overall, I am trying to fulfil all the responsibilities entrusted to me to the best of my ability,” she added.
Meanwhile, Dithi’s mother, Zohra Gazi, attended the wedding of the grandson of legendary actor Nayak Raj Razzak in the capital’s cantonment area on 6 November. Speaking about her daughter’s busy schedule, she said, “Alhamdulillah, Dithi is now so busy that sometimes I cannot even get her to help me with my own work. But that makes me very happy. Her being busy brings me joy. Her father was also extremely busy throughout his life. Being busy is, in fact, a sign of true well-being.”
Recently, Dithi and Monir Khan released a new original song, “Tumi Amay Apon Koriya”. Russell Kabir wrote the lyrics, while M Khan composed the music.
On the morning of 7 November, Dithi and Apu Aman also performed on Channel i’s programme ‘Exclusive’.
