Actress and dancer Sinthia Yasmin has made her big-screen debut with ‘Gaap’, an AI-driven short film directed by Mabrur Rashid Bannah. While the project introduces her to cinema, she continues to work actively in television dramas and pursue her ambitions in acting and dance.

According to the director, ‘Gaap’ is the first AI-based film made in Bangladesh. Sinthia plays the character Meera in the production, which combines conventional acting with artificial intelligence technology.

The actress said she was excited to be part of a project that she believes will mark a milestone in the country’s film industry. She spent five days shooting for the film before the AI technology was incorporated into the production.

“I have acted in the country’s first AI film. Being part of a moment in history is a great achievement for me, and the feeling is difficult to put into words. The story is beautiful, and I believe audiences will enjoy it. I have already received an encouraging response for my work in the film. My thanks to Bannah bhai,” Sinthia said.

Although she first gained recognition as a dancer, Sinthia wants to establish herself as an actress as well. She acknowledged that balancing the two professions is not easy but said she has continued to pursue both.

“Maintaining consistency in acting while working as a dancer is not easy. Although it is challenging, I have managed to pursue both and reach this stage. I want to take on more good projects in the future, particularly on OTT platforms,” she said.

Sinthia is also keeping busy with television productions. She has played one of the leading roles in ‘Phulgaon’, a serial directed by Salahuddin Lavlu, which is awaiting broadcast.

She has also appeared opposite Mosharraf Karim in ‘Harir Khobor’, directed by Ruman Runi.

Her recent work as a dancer has also earned appreciation. In August, she performed as Mahua in the traditional production ‘Mahua Pala’ during a tour of several states in France.

Sinthia completed her master’s degree in Accounting with first-class honours under the National University. She previously passed her higher secondary examinations from Dhaka Commerce College.

Recently, she received the Nrityakala Sammanona 2026 from Nrityangan in recognition of her contribution as a dancer.

With her film debut, ongoing television work and dance performances, Sinthia is now looking to expand her presence across different areas of the entertainment industry.
