BNP is scheduled to hold a Standing Committee meeting on Saturday night at the party chairman’s office in Gulshan.

The meeting, scheduled for 8:30pm, will be presided over by Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
This will be the party’s first Standing Committee meeting since assuming government responsibilities, and the first since the last session on 9 January, prior to the national elections.

Party sources say the meeting will focus on strategic measures to address the ongoing global energy crisis and related domestic challenges.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with business leaders at his Tejgaon office at 11 am to discuss the energy situation.

Amid escalating fuel shortages caused by the Middle East conflict, the prime minister sought guidance from the business community on mitigating the impact on the country.
