BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed on Monday said that the party is considering forming a greater political alliance ahead of the upcoming national election, upholding the spirit of national unity.
He also said that they are thinking of forming the alliance with those parties they have joined in simultaneous movements and with others so that they together can overcome the electoral hurdle.
Salahuddin came up with the remarks after paying tribute to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman by placing wreaths at his grave. He was accompanied by leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, marking the youth wing’s 47th founding anniversary.
While responding to queries about recent meetings with potential candidates at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, the senior leader said BNP is engaging with all qualified aspirants in each constituency. He also noted that multiple candidates are vying for nominations in most seats.
“These meetings are part of our broader effort to ensure unity — both within the party and across the nation. We want to send a clear message of solidarity and cohesion,” he said.
