BKSP’s teenage girls produced a goal-filled performance to overwhelm Khulna and Barishal by 15–0 in the Brac Bank Aparajeyo Alo Women’s Hockey Tournament on Monday.

Played at 2pm, the match quickly turned into a one-sided affair as Zone Five, represented by BKSP, dominated possession and territory from the opening whistle. Zone Three, made up of players from Khulna and Barishal, were given little room to breathe as BKSP launched wave after wave of organised attacks. The scoreline reflected the imbalance on the pitch, with BKSP enjoying a comprehensive goal fest.

BKSP’s number 16, Nadira Talukder Ima, stood out with an outstanding all-round display. Constantly involved throughout the match, she played a key role in the attacking dominance and was duly named Player of the Match for her performance.

The emphatic victory has further clarified the points table. BKSP now sit at the top with a perfect record, having won all three of their matches to collect nine points. Close behind them are Zone Two, comprising Dhaka and Mymensingh, who are second with seven points from the same number of games, keeping the competition finely balanced.

Two more important matches will be played on Tuesday. The day’s first fixture at 12 noon will see Zone One, representing Rajshahi and Rangpur, take on Zone Four from Chattogram and Sylhet. However, the main focus will be on the 2pm clash, where the top two teams, Zone Two and Zone Five BKSP, face each other in what promises to be a decisive encounter in the tournament.
