A migrant lawyer travelling with Biman Bangladesh Airlines has accused the airline’s chief medical officer, Dr Taslima Akhter, of misconduct while seeking a fit-to-fly clearance certificate for his ailing son.
In a written complaint submitted to the Balaka Building, the passenger alleged that Dr Taslima refused to cooperate, threw his documents back at him and behaved in an offensive manner. He demanded action over what he described as humiliating treatment.
Biman authorities responded immediately after receiving the complaint. Citing concerns that her behaviour had harmed the airline’s reputation, they issued Dr Taslima a show-cause notice, asking her to explain within 96 hours why departmental action should not be taken.
Dr Taslima denied the allegations, claiming instead that the passenger had harassed her.
