Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 395 litres of octane and 24 bags of fertiliser during an operation in Naikhongchhari, Bandarban.
Naikhongchhari Battalion (11 BGB) Lt Col Faizul Kabir confirmed the matter in a press release on Saturday.
Lt Col Faizul said a patrol team from Naikhongchhari Battalion (11 BGB) conducted an operation in various areas around 1am to 6am. During the operation, 395 litres of fuel (octane) were seized from Sonaichhari.
Moreover, 20 bags of Urea and four bags of TSP fertiliser were recovered from the Time Bazar area. It is initially suspected that the fuel and fertiliser were being stored for illegal smuggling.
Lt Col Faizul added that legal proceedings are underway.
