Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has foiled an alleged attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push five people into Bangladesh through the Chuadanga border.
The incident took place around 4am on Thursday near border pillar No. 76/4-S under the jurisdiction of Darshana Border Outpost (BOP) of Chuadanga Battalion (6 BGB).
According to the BGB statement, members of the Gede Camp under the 32 BSF Battalion allegedly attempted to enter five unidentified people into Bangladesh illegally.
The group included one man, three women and one child.
A BGB patrol team detected the attempt and stopped the individuals from crossing into Bangladesh. They were later kept near the barbed-wire fence along the border area, the statement said.
The BGB said that due to its firm position, BSF personnel eventually took the five people back to their side of the border, preventing the alleged push-in attempt.
The force said it remains vigilant against any attempt at illegal entry or violation of border laws and continues to maintain security along the border through professional and responsible conduct.
