Bellissimo has issued a clarification following recent media reports that prompted concern and confusion among consumers regarding its Rotondo ice cream.
The company said the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) identified that a specific batch of Bellissimo Rotondo (Batch No: 26050101A) contained Milk Solids-Not-Fat (MSNF) above the prescribed standard, reads a press release.
According to the statement, MSNF comprises the essential nutritional components of milk, including proteins, lactose, minerals and vitamins. It said a higher MSNF level is not harmful to human health and instead reflects the nutritious elements of milk.
The company, however, acknowledged that the matter relates to regulatory compliance. It also clarified that the issue is not associated with any harmful substances or microorganisms referenced in recent media reports.
Bellissimo said it applied for a retest on July 2, 2026, and that the process is currently underway on the advice of BSTI.
As part of its commitment and accountability to consumers, the company said all products from the affected batch are being withdrawn from the market.
Bellissimo reaffirmed its commitment to reintroduce the product as soon as possible after completing the necessary quality improvements, re-verification and fulfilling all BSTI requirements.
The company also reiterated its respect for all BSTI standards and regulations and said it remains committed to ensuring consumer trust, safety and satisfaction at all times.
