British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh PLC approved a 30 per cent cash dividend for 2025 at its 53rd annual general meeting held online on Thursday.
The company said in a press release that shareholders joined virtually and approved the financial statements, election of the board of directors, and the appointment of statutory and corporate governance auditors.
BAT Bangladesh Board Chairman Wael Sabra presided over the meeting.
In 2025, the company contributed Tk39,144 crore to the national exchequer through value-added tax, supplementary duty, and other taxes, remaining one of the country’s top taxpayers.
Independent directors Masud Khan, Prof Melita Mehjabeen and Rupali Haque Chowdhury attended, alongside non-executive directors Ziaul Abedin, Niranjan Chandra Debnath, Stuart Kidd and Francisco Toso Canepa.
Managing Director Monisha Abraham, Finance Director Nirala Singh, Commercial Director Numayer Alam and Company Secretary Syed Afzal Hossain were also present.
