Southeast Bank PLC and North South University have launched an exclusive VISA-branded student credit and prepaid card campaign at the university’s campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka, the bank said in a press release. The initiative introduces tailored financial products for students, faculty and staff, aimed at expanding access to digital payment solutions.
The programme includes credit cards for faculty members and staff, alongside student credit and prepaid cards designed to support everyday transactions as well as education-related payments, including tuition fees and foreign university application costs.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Southeast Bank PLC Chairman M A Kashem, Vice Chairperson Rehana Rahman, North South University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Nasar U Ahmed, and Board of Trustees member Benajir Ahmed.
Under the offer, faculty and staff will receive a lifetime waiver on annual fees for their credit cards, along with credit limits determined by eligibility. Students will receive Tk100 cashback on their first prepaid card transaction and a waiver of SMS charges for the first year.
The cards are structured to enable both domestic and international transactions, supporting a broader shift towards digital financial services within the academic community.
Senior officials from both institutions attended the launch, highlighting the collaboration between Southeast Bank and North South University to improve financial accessibility and convenience for students and staff.
The campaign reflects a joint effort to strengthen secure and user-friendly payment solutions, aligning with growing demand for digital banking services in the education sector, the bank said in a press release.
