FC Barcelona took another decisive step towards the La Liga title with a 2-0 win away to Getafe CF, extending their lead at the top of the table.
Goals from Fermín López and Marcus Rashford secured a ninth consecutive league victory, moving Barcelona to 85 points, 11 clear of second-placed Real Madrid with five matches remaining.
Barcelona dominated possession early but found Getafe difficult to break down, with the hosts — chasing European qualification, holding firm for much of the first half.
The breakthrough came just before the interval. Pedri threaded a precise through ball into the box, which López met with a composed, low finish into the corner to give the visitors the lead.
Barcelona sealed the result in the 74th minute with a swift counter-attack. After collecting the ball near the halfway line, Rashford surged forward largely unchallenged before firing a calm, low strike from the edge of the area.
The victory further strengthens Barcelona’s grip on the title race, especially after Real Madrid dropped points in their 1-1 draw with Real Betis a day earlier.
Getafe, meanwhile, remain sixth on 44 points, still firmly in contention for a European place despite the defeat.
