Baraka Patenga Power Limited held its 15th Annual General Meeting on Tuesday in a hybrid format at Hotel Royal Mark in Sylhet.
The company said in a press release that shareholders and members of the board of directors joined the AGM both physically and virtually.
The meeting was conducted by Baraka Patenga Power Company Secretary Mohammad Rana and formally began with recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the welcome address and commencement of the main session.
In his address, Baraka Patenga Power Chairman Gulam Rabbani Chowdhury thanked shareholders for standing by the company throughout its journey and outlined the company’s operations, financial performance, future business plans, growth prospects and challenges.
He also reaffirmed the group’s commitment to sustainable development, transparency and the protection of shareholders’ interests.
Baraka Patenga Power Managing Director Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury said the company posted a consolidated profit of Tk23.75 crore in the financial year 2024–25, while consolidated earnings per share stood at Tk1.37.
He added that during the year the company’s two subsidiary power plants—Karnaphuli Power Limited and Baraka Shikalbaha Power Limited—earned profits of Tk41.63 crore and Tk14.67 crore respectively.
Shareholders’ opinions were taken into consideration during the meeting, and questions raised were answered by the chairman and the managing director.
At the 15th AGM, shareholders approved a 2 per cent cash dividend along with all other agenda items, according to the press release.
