Md Rashed Akhtar was named as president of the Bankers Club of Bangladesh Limited, while Rashid-un-Nabi became general secretary through its executive committee election on 27 February.
According to a press release signed by Election Officer Prant Sarkar Topu, the official results were announced on 28 February,
A total of 46 candidates from two panels – Bankers Oikya Parishad and Sarbjanin Bankers Parishad – along with one independent candidate contested various posts.
The Bankers Oikya Parishad panel secured 19 positions, including president, general secretary and organising secretary.
The Sarbjanin Bankers Parishad panel won three executive member posts, including social service secretary.
Voting and counting were completed in what organisers described as a peaceful and festive atmosphere.
Other elected office-bearers include Senior Vice-President Subir Kumar Kundu, vice-presidents Md Mofazzal Mamun Khan and Md Shafiqul Islam Fakir Pintu, and Joint General Secretary Md Khairul Hasan.
Amin Md Mehedi Hasan was elected as organising secretary, while Md Saidul Islam Pintu clinched the joint organising secretary position and Shafiqul Islam became treasurer.
Md Anwarul Islam Masud was elected as publicity secretary, Md Mahmudul Hasan Rana sports secretary, Hasina Ferdous social service secretary and Kazi Azizur Rahman cultural secretary.
The elected executive members are Mohammad Lutful Habib, MM Saiful Islam, Md Mostafizur Rahman, AKM Roknuzzaman Khandaker, Sharmin Akhter, Md Shahin Uddin, Abed-ur-Rahman, Faisal Ahmed, Mohammad Humayun Kabir and Ajmeri Sultana.
The newly elected executive committee will serve for the next two years.
The committee expressed gratitude to members for their support and pledged to work for the development and welfare of the club and its members.
