Md Rashed Akter has been elected President and Rashid-un-Nabi General Secretary of the Bankers Club of Bangladesh Limited following the election of its Executive Committee held on Friday.

A total of 46 candidates from two panels, Bankers Oikya Parishad and Sarbajanin Bankers Parishad, along with one independent candidate contested the election, according to a press release.

The Bankers Oikya Parishad panel secured victory in 19 posts, including President, General Secretary and Organising Secretary, while the Sarbajanin Bankers Parishad panel won the posts of Social Welfare Secretary and three Executive Member positions.

Voting and counting were completed in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.

Other elected officials are Senior Vice-President Subir Kumar Kundu; Vice-Presidents Md Mofazzal Mamun Khan and Md Shafiqul Islam Fakir Pintu; Joint General Secretary Mohammad Khairul Hasan; Organising Secretary Amin Md Mehedi Hasan; Joint Organising Secretary Md Saidul Islam Pintu; Treasurer Shafiqul Islam; Publicity Secretary Md Anwarul Islam Masud; Sports Secretary Md Mahmudul Hasan Rana; Social Welfare Secretary Hasina Ferdous; and Cultural Secretary Kazi Azizur Rahman.

Those elected as Executive Members are Mohammad Lutfur Habib, M M Saiful Islam, Md Mostafizur Rahman, A K M Roknuzzaman Khondaker, Sharmin Akhter, Md Shahin Uddin, Abed-ur-Rahman, Faisal Ahmed, Mohammad Humayun Kabir and Azmeri Sultana.

The newly elected Executive Committee will serve the organisation for a two-year term.

The newly elected leaders expressed gratitude to the members for their trust and support and reaffirmed their commitment to the overall development of the club, member welfare, and building a strong and united organisation.
