Bangladesh umpire Masudur Rahman Mukul will be part of the officiating team for the ICC Under 19 World Cup final between India and England. The title match will be played on Friday in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The final will start at 1:30 pm Bangladesh time. Lubabalo Gcuma and Shaun Haig will stand as the on field umpires. Zahid Bassarath has been named the third umpire. Masudur Rahman Mukul will work as the fourth umpire. Graeme Labrooy will take charge as the match referee.
The Under 19 World Cup final will take place just one day before the start of the men’s T20 World Cup. With only two days left for that tournament, drama around Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan has remained in focus. Before that event begins, the youth World Cup will come to an end in Harare.
Mukul has already handled key matches in this tournament. He served as the fourth umpire in the second semi final between India and Afghanistan. India won that match by seven wickets after chasing a target of 311 runs. Mukul has also worked as an on field umpire in four matches in the ongoing competition.
India have reached the Under 19 World Cup final for the sixth time in a row and the tenth time overall. They are five time champions and hold the record for most titles. England last won the tournament in the 1997–98 edition. They will now aim to win the trophy again after a long gap. India will also look to return to the top after missing out in the previous edition.
