Bangladesh has warmly welcomed the finalisation of peace agreement between the United States of America (US) and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the government stated that Bangladesh has consistently called for de-escalation and the resolution of conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.

The ministry expressed its appreciation for the efforts of all parties and facilitators who contributed to this “positive development”. Dhaka further expressed hope that the agreement would be implemented in good faith and prove to be both durable and sustainable.

The official statement emphasised that Bangladesh believes peace and stability in the Middle East are vital for the regional and global peace, security, and development.

Consequently, the government has encouraged all involved parties to build on this momentum to address outstanding issues through further dialogue and diplomacy.

Looking ahead, Bangladesh noted its anticipation for the early restoration of regional calm, the stability of supply chains, and enhanced collaboration following the agreement.
