Jagannath University (JnU) has announced the names of 104 students from various faculties for the Dean’s Award across four academic sessions.
According to the published list, 24 students from 2016-2017 session, 25 from 2017-2018, 28 from 2018-2019, and 27 from 2019-2020 session have achieved this honour. The information was confirmed in a notification signed by the university’s Acting Registrar Professor Md Sheikh Gias Uddin on Sunday.
2016-2017 session
From Faculty of Arts, the recipients are Muztanibah Jahan Mashraka (Institute of Education and Research), Saddam Hossain (Islamic Studies), Sambita Talukder Lota (Music), and Kaniz Sharmin (Theatre).
Faculty of Business Studies awardees include Dapali Rani (Accounting and Information Systems), Shwarna Rani Saha (Management Studies), Ayesha Akter (Finance), and Rumana Siddika Marufa (Marketing).
In Faculty of Science, Riva Akter (Chemistry), Kaniz Fatema Laiju (Physics), and Sourav Chandra Das (Computer Science and Engineering) earned the award.
From Faculty of Social Science, Rokeya Parvin (Sociology), Yasmin Akter Eva (Social Work), Md Ibrahim Azad (Mass Communication and Journalism), and Md Rakibul Islam (Public Administration) were honoured.
Additionally, Baishakhi Rani Karmakar from Faculty of Law and Rafia Zaman Osmita from the Faculty of Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting) received the award.
Faculty of Life and Earth Science recipients are Fazla Rabbi Fahad (Botany), Jannatul Ferdous Poma (Psychology), MM Shah Parun Rana (Geography and Environment), Md Sharif Mia (Microbiology), Khadiza Akter Poly (Pharmacy), Md Nabil Hasan (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), and Mahua Sarkar (Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology).
2017-2018 session
Recipients from Faculty of Arts include Tasnima Akter (IER), Mir Sumaiya Islam (Institute of Modern Languages), Md Anwar Shah (Islamic Studies), Toukir Ahmed (Music), and Sabiha Huq (Theatre).
Faculty of Business Studies awardees are Md Rafiqul Islam (AIS), Sumaiya Pithi (Management Studies), Sharmin Akter (Finance), and Md Rashidul Islam (Marketing).
In Faculty of Science, Sadia Islam Rukaiya (Mathematics), Ehsan Ahmed (Statistics), and Sadia Jannat Mitu (CSE) were named. The Faculty of Social Science awardees include Ferdousi Akter Bonna (Sociology), Ruhi Mostari (Anthropology), Joy Pal (Public Administration), and Maisha Maliha Mou (Film and Television).
Shumuna Akter from Faculty of Law (Land Management and Law) and Farzana Alam from Faculty of Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting) also achieved the honour.
From Faculty of Life and Earth Science, the awardees are Niloy Chowdhury (Botany), Lamia Anjum (Psychology), Sim-Ur-Rahman Khan (Geography and Environment), Tanzum Ahmed Nodi (Microbiology), Mahima Wasi (Pharmacy), Fahim Ibn Md Bin Mostafa (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), and Md Ashiq Rabbani (Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology).
2018-2019 session
Faculty of Arts recipients are Lucky Akter (History), Md Abul Khair (Islamic History and Culture), Ariful Islam (Islamic Studies), Sarna Rani Talukder (Music), Kamrun Nahar Lubna (IER), and Md Muhib Ahsan Chowdhury (IML).
In Faculty of Business Studies, Rita Rani Pal (AIS), Rania Hossain Raya (Management Studies), Samira Haque (Finance), and Asma Akter (Marketing) earned the recognition.
Faculty of Science awardees include Md Riyad Khan (Mathematics), Md Abdul Alim (Physics), Monisha Talukder (Statistics), and Md Aminul Islam Rafi (CSE).
From Faculty of Social Science, Samia Akter Trisha (Economics), Mutasim Billah (Sociology), Sadia Khanam (Public Administration), and Ruma Akter (Political Science) were selected.
Ragib Shahriar Rafi from Faculty of Law and Payel Das Anik from Faculty of Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting) are also on the list.
