Bangladesh Railway has awarded Md Enamul Haque for his outstanding contribution to ensuring the safety of the railway and its passengers.

The award was presented at a ceremony at the office of the General Manager (West) of Bangladesh Railway on Tuesday. A reception was also organised in his honour. After the reception, Farid Ahmed, General Manager (West) of Bangladesh Railway, handed over a commemorative crest and a cash award to him.

It is noteworthy that on 23 March 2026, at 6:50am, Md Enamul Haque noticed that the rail head was broken by about 7 inches at a railway joint between Birampur and Fulbari stations. He displayed a red signal and signaled the Dhaka-bound Panchagarh Express train to stop, thereby ensuring the safety of the train.

Bangladesh Railway awarded him this prize in gratitude for fulfilling his duty as a responsible citizen, assisting the railway with great prudence to ensure the safety of passengers and secure train movement.

Present at the event were Ahmed Hossain Masum, chief engineer (west); other departmental heads; representatives of railway workers’ organizations; and journalist representatives. Enamul Haque was presented with a crest, a certificate of honor, and a cash award at the event.
